Basing on the findings by the founders, it was noted that Uganda and the world at large was infested by general moral decay among the youth, increased rate of HIV/AIDS spread, PWDs neglect, child labor and abuse of Human rights especially children’s rights, LYDI UGANDA came up with a number of people centered programmes that are both partially implemented due to limited funds.
AREAS OF FOCUS LYDI UGANDA YOUTH SUPPORT AND ADVISORY PROGRAMME (L-YOSAP) This addresses the spiritual, social, moral and economic challenges facing the youth. Having realized that other avenues used by the government and other stake holders in fight against AIDS have not been very effective in bringing about good behavioral changes among the youth and thus the continue spread of the scourge and moral degenerations, the L-YOSAP address these issues from a spiritual and moral point of view. L-YOSAP has caused a great behavioral change amongst the youths thus enabling them to live normally upright and productive lives based on religious values and norms. Generally moral decadence among the youth has reduced thus enabling them to live morally upright lives and the implementation of L-YOSAP has put many challenges faced by young people under control.
LYDI UGANDA ONE VOICE PROGRAMME (L-OVOP) The one voice tends to address the social, economical and health challenges facing the children, youth and women in the rural areas; Needy children such as orphans are registered, mobilized and are inspired with religious principles of moral living, counseled, advised, trained/ taught and supported with knowledge and skills to live up to their expected potential that cause a positive change in their communities. Community mobilization is carried out to sensitize the youth and women to form groups through which they can be supported socially, economically, spiritually and medically. Members are required to choose programmes of their own to start up in the homes such programmes are supported by L-OVOP. Workshops and seminars are held from time to time in order to equip members with business skills, programme management and health related issues.
LYDI UGANDA-PWD EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME (L-PEP) Through L-PEP, LYDI UGANDA is aimed at improving the plight of PWDs in the community. LYDI UGANDA improves the living standards of PWDs through employment creation, fighting negative perception of general community towards them, equipping PWDs with skills in fields where they can be employed, promoting home economics and management so that they improve their employment standards and become self employed.

LYDI UGANDA HIV/AIDS CARE PROGRAMME (L-HACAP) This programme is meant to consolidate the achievements of Uganda in the early 1990’s when fresh HIV infections dramatically went down and the country served as a model in the combat of the pandemic. Complacency in our communities has undermined the struggle towards reducing HIV/AIDS. Therefore, there’s need to invigorate the campaign through counseling and guidance, nutritional support and promotion of preventive measures such as delayed sex and ABC model which are time tested. The fight against stigma will be a component of the programme as well as promotion of voluntary counseling and testing as well as creation of massive awareness of the pandemic through community sensitization campaigns.
LYDI UGANDA CRUSADE FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS PROGRAMME (L-UCCR). This is meant to draw public attention to the plight of children and to lobby parliamentarians to establish the office of ombudsman for children in Uganda. The office oversees the enforcement of children’s statute and review laws on the children’s rights in line with related United Nation’s Conventions to which Uganda is a signatory. Child sacrifice, child labor, child trafficking, and sexual exploitation are among the challenges to be tackled by the programme.
LYDI UGANDA VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME (L-VOTRAP) Owing to a large number of school drop outs and orphans who cannot proceed to tertiary institutions, there’s need to establish free or affordable vocational training centers. Much of the visible and disguised unemployment in Uganda is caused not by lack of jobs but by lack of relevant marketable skills. Outdated school curricular does not respond to the country’s manpower needs of blue collar artisans for emerging industries. Under LYDI UGANDA, we intend to support orphans and unprivileged person living in rural areas and other communities by equipping them with practical skills to help them manage their future.
NOTE: LYDI UGANDA visits schools, prisons and tertiary institutions to sensitize pupils, students, prisoners and the general community about drug abuse, early pregnancy, abstinence, behavioral change, life management, self discovery among others.
